Yes, I actually do want help with these modules. There are three ways to help out. The best way to contact me or send files is by e-mail to lowry@lowry.eche.ualberta.ca
Testers Wanted
Tell me about problems you encounter or offer suggestions on how the modules can be improved. Since they will all eventually be somewhat improved, your input will be very helpful. Hopefully ongoing testing will lead to the modules working better with screen savers other than After Dark, and PowerMacs that have really strange setups. Read the read me file carefully, and contact me by e-mail or regular mail (or even call me if you can afford it). You can even get a free pair of 3D glasses if you're the first to report a problem!
Artists Wanted
You don't need to be an artistic genius to be more capable than I am. The simplest things to do are to make 360x60 PICTs for use with Plasma (256 colours using the standard System palette is best) or dream up non-geometrical shapes for Denizens (give me coordinates of points in a square or cube, or simply send a (simple) line-drawing PICT of any size). If you have a good module idea which depends on art (that you are capable of producing), then let me know about it. You won't make any money off this, but you'll get full credit for anything significant and credit on the module's Help screen for minor contributions.
Programmers Wanted
Have ability to program on the Mac (especially to program screen saver modules) but nowhere to apply it? Or simply want to goof off? Well, you won't make any money programming for this collection, but you will get to see your name on a module, and so will a lot of other people. The guidelines are simple: write something that runs well on PowerMacs, and if it's good enough I'll include it in the collection. If you only have half an idea, or want help with a module, that's fine with me. If the help is minimal or just involves optimization, then I'll still give you full credit. If you expect me to do most of the work, then you'll have to share the credit. Sound fair enough? Eventually I'll implement more guidelines, but since the modules are all mine for now, there's no point worrying about details yet. You will not be required to relinquish any part of your copyright on your own work, aside from agreeing to the free distribution format itself.
